Windmill Angling Club Trophy – September 2020

In the name of fun and healthy competition. The September Match at Hunters are well attended and even had prizes!

Although the weather remained dry, it really was a tale of two halves on Sunday 27th September. Most people who had drawn pegs on the West Bank caught, whereas all people on the East and South Banks did not.

Andy Southern won the match with 8lb 3oz, which consisted of an 8lb Carp. Andy felt this was just a bit of good luck on the day however, Chris Plant said (tongue-in-cheek) that it was an “Outstanding piece of Match Angling!” I WISH .

At the end of the match we had a trophy to present to Andy and also a “Booby” Prize that was claimed by Dangerous Stu Drabble on behalf of all those intrepid guys who stuck it out for the full duration of the match. We’ve decided that, in the future, whoever comes last, gets the prize and then holds it until the next match, where it’s passed onto the next, unfortunate Angler.
