Gawsworth Fisheries – Serpentine Canal
Windmill Angling Club Match Sunday 10th August 2025 – Draw 9am
The postcode we’ve been given for the match covers quite a large area, so, Bob and I have been down to Serpentine Canal and made notes and took pictures to try and assist anyone that hasn’t been there before. Please have a look below and let us know via the usual channels if you are still unsure how to get there.
Point A on the map is the entrance to Gawsworth Hall and points B and C are referenced in the explanatory text that accompanies some of the photographs.

If you use SK11 9RQ in your Sat Nav and get to the gates of Gawsworth Hall (A) and turn a sharp left.

You’ll then pass some cottages on the right and a statue of Sir Robert Peel on the left, then an idyllic couple of “Back Garden Waters.”

Immediately after these is a turn to the right (B) – and a sign (if you can see it) which takes you down a lane for quite someway.

When you get to a junction (C) go straight ahead though the gate onto a gravel track – take care as there are a few potholes.

You start to pass a car park with a “camouflaged” cafe in it, keep to the left again and continue on the, now, dirt path – again making sure you drive carefully and slowly.

Pass the disused Tractor on the left and descend into the Car Park. Please park there and go through the clearing and assemble by the Serpentine sign to draw your peg.
